About THRACE

Erik is the founder of Thrace and has spent a lifetime in leadership and in shaping the development of leaders. As a retired lieutenant colonel in the Marines and as a senior national security executive in government, he has led organizations through a variety of crises and transitions. He understands the edge that strong leadership provides, especially in today’s world of rapidly advancing technologies where managers at all levels have to be adept at leading through complexity and change. His passion for helping others step into the full potential of their leadership has enabled them to deepen their self-awareness, broaden their influence, and thrive in their roles. Organizations succeed when the leaders within are equipped to set inspirational visions and leverage their leadership to bring those visions to implementation.

Erik chose the name Thrace for his business inspired by a philosopher named Protogoras who lived in the region of Thrace during the Socratic Greek period. Protogoras’ contribution to philosophy was the assertion that man could define his existence through the lens of his own experience. This focus on the individual and the discovery of inner clarity around values and purpose is the bedrock of Erik’s leadership development approach. From this place a leader may develop the outward facing skills needed to connect and lead people with authenticity and with inspiration.
